Matador Review

A Quarterly Missive of Alternative Concern

Editor's Note: The Alternative Magazine

Dear Reader:
Thank you for your interest in The Matador Review.

In George Saunders's short story collection, Tenth of December, he has a line that reads, "Why was she dancing? No reason. Just alive, I guess." I'd like you to contemplate these words as you read our second issue; I find that it is very revealing.
We have an assembly of diverse and strong voices here, and I am grateful for their generosity in contributing to TMR. I am constantly amazed, and delighted, to discover the quality of work coming our way. Thank you, writers & artists. You are wonderful.

As we are dedicated to expanding our reach as an alternative magazine, we have continued to interview notable figures in the art & literature world. Whether you are seeking a mélange of artistic processes, or true stories of struggle and success, this issue offers them all. Beyond this, you may find that we have now added a "Review" section to our publication format, and have brought on an in-house reviewer, Jim Hepplewhite.

From Chicago, USA, we wish you well. Let the art & language take you on a journey.

Cheers,

JT Lachausse
