(These drawings are part of a series of fantastical creatures called ‘Hairy Tales'. Creating dark but comical narrative in the style of Edwardian and Victorian family portraiture, the drawings claim a narrative that feels they should be accompanied by stories woven around childhood stories or Fables. I wanted to evoke a feeling of fairy-tale with moralistic and sometimes nonsensical but anecdotal detail. Gender, childhood and stereotypes are all questioned within these themes.)
