"Frida & Nicholas"

Artist's Statement: "Frida & Nicholas" begins with a fragment of drawing, from a black and white snapshot of Frida Khalo and Nicholas Murray. It expands in a wider, colorful icon, echoing the passion of the  artists portrayed, together with their untold conflicts. The piece belongs to a series entitled "Una Storia Sbagliata": it means both "a wrong story" and "a wrong history". More about it can be found at http://totihan.net/una-storia-sbagliata.html

Toti O'Brien’s mixed media have been exhibited in group and solo shows, throughout Europe and the US, since 1995. She has illustrated two children’s books and two memoirs. Her artwork has appeared in Like a Girl, Speechless, Maudlin and Rogue Agent, among other journals and magazines.
